What are the cost benefits of outsourcing our email to Wave2Wave?

You will not have to purchase, install or manage an in-house email system because Wave2Wave already has a turnkey system in place for you. By outsourcing your email services to Wave2Wave, it will provide cost savings against purchasing expensive hardware/software equipment and additional upgrades, allowing your internal personnel to focus on your core business.

Will I need to upgrade our email service, as new versions are available?

No. Wave2Wave automatically and seamlessly upgrades your email account.

What do you mean by redundancy?
If your email server goes down, will I still receive my emails?

The Wave2Wave Email system is built with extensive software and hardware backups. Our Network Operations Center has two separate email servers that mirror each other for complete redundancy. In the unlikely event that one of our email servers fails, our backup server will activate, so you will never lose your email connectivity.

How will our remote users access their email?

Wave2Wave Email is perfect for employees who are on the go. Remote users would access their email through a web browser on any computer that is connected to the Internet. Using the Web Access feature, your employees will be able to easily check their email from home, the road, or anywhere in the world.

How much storage capacity do we have for each email user?

Wave2Wave Email is fully scalable. Each mailbox initially contains 10 MB of storage. For heavy email users, we can provide you with upgrades in either 10 MB or 40 MB increments of additional email storage. We have the technology in place to meet the needs of your growing business.

What happens when I reach my storage limit?

When you reach your total mailbox storage capacity, you will need to either delete emails in your mailbox or choose to upgrade your email mailbox storage capacity.

What is the size limit of file attachments?

There is 30 MB limit on the size of attachments that you send using Wave2Wave Email. File attachments that are received are limited by the remaining storage space in your mailbox. So if you have purchased 50 MB of storage, and you already have 30 MB of email stored on the server, you are limited to a 20 MB attachment.

Will the name of our company appear as my email address?

Your email address can be your own registered domain name, giving you the benefit of a much more professional Internet address that reinforces your brand recognition. Instead of having the name of an ISP in your email address, you have the opportunity to register your company's name (based of course on the availability of your company name) to end up with a highly professional email address such as Jdoe@xyzcompany.com. Please note you must register your own domain name with a domain name hosting provider.

Our business is very dependent on employees responding to emails. Is there a way of notifying someone who sends an email to one of our employees that they are away from the office?

Your employees can create an autoreply message that will be sent automatically in response to all incoming email while they're away from the office or on vacation.

We have numerous remote employees that have pagers and cell phones. Is there a way we can communicate?

With Wave2Wave Email, you can easily send an email directly to your employees that have pagers or cell phones with email capability.

Do you support mailing lists?

Yes. Wave2Wave Email lets you create and delete mailing lists including email addresses for individuals within or outside your company.

Can my employees access messages outside of the office even without their office computer?

Yes. Wave2Wave Email will free your employees from access limited to a single computer. All they need is any computer with Internet access. To access their email messages, your employees simply type http://mail.Wave2Wave.net into a web browser and select Web Access. At the Login window, your employee will enter their email address and password then click OK. Or if they prefer, they can access their messages using a POP3 or IMAP4 email client such as Microsoft Outlook.

What are the benefits of Web Access, POP3 and IMAP4?

Web Access is the premier vehicle for your employees that are on the go. Your employees have the option of accessing their email through any web browser or any computer connected to the Internet whether they are at work, at home, or on the road. The Web Access feature gives your employees the same traditional features as POP3 email clients such as Microsoft Outlook, even while away from the office.

POP3 (Post office protocol version 3) access gives your employees the ability to send and receive email with standard desktop clients such as Microsoft Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, and Eudora. POP3 gives your employees the ability to download their emails right to their desktop computer.

IMAP4 (Internet Message Access Protocol) access will revolutionize the way your employees access and manage their email. IMAP's ability to access messages from more than one computer is extremely important as your employees depend on electronic messaging and the use of multiple computers increases. Email users can use IMAP technology to view, manage and create shared folders from multiple computers and locations. Employees can filter incoming email to route to specified folders, allowing for easy reference and organization.

I'm an AOL/Yahoo user. Can I use email relay?

No. Wave2Wave Email Relay is for customers who maintain their own email servers with a static IP address.

Why do I need a POP3 connector?

Email Backup requires the use of what is known as a POP3 connector. A POP3 connector allows your mail server to log into your Email Backup account and retrieve the mail. Wave2Wave does not supply or support the POP3 connector. Prior to using Wave2Wave Email Backup, you will need to locate, install and configure the POP3 connector specific to the type of mail server you are using.

What will happen if I don't have a POP3 connector?

Email Backup requires the use of the POP3 connector on your server side. If you fail to install the POP3 connector, any mail sent utilizing the Wave2Wave server will never reach you. The mail will simply sit in your Email Backup account until you manually log into your Email Backup account and retrieve the email using your mail client (such as Outlook).

Is every employee's email backed up?

Yes. All of your company's email is routed to our Email Backup server in case your in-house server ever fails. However there is one company-wide account into which all the company email will be sent. The mail is not sorted by employee name. All company mail will reside in the one mailbox.

How do I access my email on the Web if my company's email server is down?

You can access the company-wide email account using any computer connected to the Internet via the Web Access feature. All you need is a computer with Internet access, the backup email address and password. If you prefer, you can access your messages using a POP3 or IMAP4 email client such as Microsoft Outlook.

Can I send email if my company's email server is down?

Yes. Using Web Access, you can respond to any email that was sent to you, or write and send new email.
