HIGH SPEED BROADBAND SERVICE IS LAUNCHED IN HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT
HACKENSACK, NJ (August 22, 2002) – Wave2Wave Communications announced today the deployment of its high-speed fixed wireless Internet services in Hartford, Connecticut, further expanding the Company’s presence in the underserved Connecticut market. Over the next several weeks and months, Wave2Wave will be expanding into several new markets across the state of Connecticut.
“There are numerous markets in Connecticut that are starving for high-speed broadband services. This is evidenced by the high number of customers we have already added up in Connecticut,” said Steven Asman, President of Wave2Wave Communications. “In the upcoming weeks, we are launching service in Waterbury and New Haven, with additional Connecticut locations to follow shortly”.
In order to provide service within a market, the Company installs a “base station” (an antenna on either a tower or rooftop) that can provide service up to a 10-mile radius from that site. The subscriber can receive service with either a “patch” antenna that is installed on the subscriber’s window or from an antenna installed on the rooftop of their premises. Once a customer is verified to be within range of a base station’s signal, the Company provides them with service within days of receiving an order.
