Wave2Wave expects to be the first communications provider to deploy a
4G network within a multi-tenant, commercial building in the United
States. After successfully deploying its services in the first building
in Manhattan, the Company plans on rolling out its state-of-the art 4G
network in major metropolitan areas across the country.
Wave2Wave’s 4G service will be a first-of-its kind converged cellular
and wireless broadband network that will allow users to experience true
next gen services. The Company has teamed up with a leading cell phone
handset manufacturer to provide compatible handsets to Wave2Wave
customers for use during a service pilot program.
The 4G Pilot
The pilot program is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2009
and to be completed by the second quarter of 2009. The pilot is being
conducted at the Lincoln Building at 60 E 42st Street in New York City.
Pilot participants will have access to cell phones with which to test
Wave2Wave’s 4G service free of charge. Pilot participants will be the
first users in the U.S. to trial advanced applications such as video
calling and multi-session video conferencing that mobile networks
cannot currently support.
